The Hidden Skill That Builds a Seven-Figure MSP
The Hidden Skill That Builds a Seven-Figure MSP

Have you ever wondered what actually separates the MSPs who scale to seven figures from the ones who stay stuck? We have been exactly where you are right now. Before we became Cloud Services for MSPs, we grew our own seven figure MSP from the ground up. I can tell you that the secret to that growth is not a magic trick or a lucky break! It is a powerful principle called repetition.

Practice in Private, Win in Public

We like to say that repetition is the mother of skill. It is not about the one-off action or trying something once to see if it works. It is about the kind of daily repetition that builds muscle memory, confidence, and consistency. This is what makes the great MSPs look like naturals, even though none of them actually are! They just built habits that you did not see.

Think about Steph Curry, the greatest three point shooter in NBA history. Before he was a star, he was in the gym taking 500 shots every single day. That is 14,000 shots a month and millions over his career. The world only sees the public glory and the highlight reels, but he was rewarded in public for what he practiced for years in private.

Finding Your 500 Shots

What are the 500 shots a day in your MSP? It probably is not fixing servers at 2:00 am. For most of us, the real reps are making outbound calls, following up with prospects, and practicing your sales pitch. It is posting on LinkedIn, sending a weekly email, or asking a client for a review. These tasks are not glamorous and you do not get applause for them, but they create your identity.

Most MSPs do not lack ability, they lack consistency. They try a campaign for two weeks and quit when they do not get immediate leads. They go to two networking events or send one newsletter and give up when nobody replies. The MSPs who actually scale are the ones who build these repetitions into their culture.

The Formula for Momentum

If you only do something when you feel motivated, you will never master it! Repetition creates momentum, and momentum creates the confidence you need to close deals. Confidence creates clients, and clients create revenue. It is not magic, it is just math.

This week, I want you to pick just one skill you want to master. Whether it is ten sales calls or a daily social media post, commit to it for the next seven days. Do not worry about being perfect! Just worry about the repetition.

We want to help you reach that next level because we believe in givers gain. That is why we offer a free Cloud Academy with resources like our new construction kit to help you land deals.

Today’s quote is, unsurprisingly, from Steph Curry: “If you want to be great at something, you have to put in the work.”

Have a great week and weekend!
