Welcome to Part 3 of the “Webinars That Win” series!
When I was running my MSP, I learned something that completely changed the way we grew: webinars. At first, I thought of them as one-off events. Host it, get a few leads, move on. But over time I discovered they could be so much more! When done right, webinars aren’t just events: they’re the foundation of a marketing machine that works while you sleep.
And now, as a Cloud Provider working with MSPs every single day, I’m here to show you exactly how we turned webinars into one of the most powerful tools in our growth engine.
Getting People to Show Up
Let’s be real. The number one question I get is: how do I actually get people to attend my webinar?
Here’s what worked for us:
- Use your list. Doesn’t matter if it’s 25 people or 5,000: send at least three emails over two weeks. Don’t just blast out “Join our webinar.” Lead with the benefit! Something like “Learn three ways hackers are breaking into small businesses (and how to stop them).”
- Invite warm leads personally. If someone ghosted you after asking for a quote, send them a friendly invite. Make it feel like a favor, not a pitch.
- Leverage LinkedIn. Post multiple times, create an event, share teasers, and tag referral partners.
- Update your email signature. Free real estate! Add a simple call to register for your upcoming webinar.
- Tap referral partners and associations. Make it easy for them to share a short blurb with their lists.
- Post on social media more than once. Different angles, different hooks: make some noise!
Sound like a lot? It really isn’t once you’ve done it a couple times, and the payoff is incredible!
Turning Webinars Into a System
Most MSPs treat webinars like one-offs. Do it once, maybe get a couple leads, and never revisit it. That’s like going to the gym once and expecting six-pack abs!
The real magic is in consistency. When you run webinars on a regular cadence (monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly) you train your audience to expect value from you. And you build a pipeline that never goes cold.
Here’s how we made it work:
- Pick a cadence and stick to it. Monthly is great, quarterly is fine. Just get it on the calendar for the whole year.
- Choose topics that keep business owners up at night. Forget “IT Trends 2025.” Instead, go with “Why Cyber Insurance Claims Are Getting Denied” or “Three Cloud Mistakes Costing Businesses Thousands.”
- Reuse and rerun webinars. Don’t retire a good one. Change the title, swap a story, update a few stats, and run it again! We even repurposed them for different verticals like law firms, accounting firms, or manufacturers.
- Turn each webinar into months of marketing content. Blog posts, email campaigns, social snippets, lead magnets, you name it. One solid webinar can fuel your entire content calendar.
Keep It Simple
Now, don’t overcomplicate this. You don’t need to be a marketing guru, You just need a repeatable system. Start with one webinar. Record it. Use it for blogs, snippets, and emails. Then add another. Before you know it, you’ll have a full rotation ready to go!
However, don’t fall into these traps:
- Don’t aim for perfection. Done is better than perfect.
- Don’t obsess over attendance numbers. Focus on quality leads, not vanity metrics.
- Don’t skip follow-up. As we covered in Part 2, that’s where the ROI really comes from!
Why This Works
We built our MSP by showing up consistently. Even if only a few people attended a webinar, they saw value. They remembered us. And eventually, they reached out ready to buy. That’s the long game, and it works!
Today, Cloud Services for MSPs is built on those same principles. We know that webinars aren’t just content: they’re compounding trust builders. They keep you top of mind. They fill your calendar. And they turn your marketing from feast-or-famine into a steady growth engine.
So what’s your first step? Pick a topic and put it on your calendar. Don’t wait for the perfect slides or the perfect title: just do it!
Thank you for joining us on this 3-part series, and we hope it helps you fine tune your webinar process.
Today’s quote is from John C. Maxell: “You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.”
Have a great week and weekend!
